Ingredients:
For the Chicken:
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Garlic Sauce:
- 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons sour cream or Greek yogurt
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Wraps:
- 4 large tortillas or wraps
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
- 1 cup lettuce, chopped
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 avocado, sliced (optional)
- Fresh parsley or coriander, chopped (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the Chicken
Season the chicken: In a medium bowl, combine the thinly sliced chicken with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat the chicken evenly with the seasoning.
Cook the chicken: Heat a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken to the pan and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and slightly golden. Remove from heat and set aside.
2. Prepare the Garlic Sauce
- Mix the sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream (or Greek yogurt), minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste.
3. Assemble the Wraps
Warm the tortillas: Heat the tortillas briefly in a dry pan or microwave to make them pliable.
Layer the ingredients: Spread a generous amount of garlic sauce onto each tortilla. Add a layer of shredded cheese, followed by the cooked chicken, lettuce, diced tomato, red onion, and avocado (if using).
Wrap it up: Fold in the sides of the tortilla and roll it up tightly to form a wrap.
4. Heat and Serve
Optional toasting: If you prefer a crispy wrap, heat a dry pan over medium heat and lightly toast each wrap for 2-3 minutes on each side until the cheese melts and the wrap is golden and crispy.
Slice and serve: Cut the wraps in half and serve immediately. Garnish with fresh parsley or coriander for an extra touch of freshness.
Chef’s Tips:
- Add extra flavor: For more cheesy goodness, sprinkle extra cheese before toasting the wraps.
- Spicy kick: Add a touch of hot sauce or a few slices of jalapeños for a spicy variation.
